This is a beautiful French Gorge cased lacquered brass carriage clock circa 1880.
The clock has beveled glass panels all round including the back door, white enamel rectangular dial with Roman numerals and original black hands; no chips or cracks to dial. The case is surmounted by an ornate carry handle.
The quality eight day French movement with original lever platform escapement which is visible through the glass panel on the top of the case, with hour and quarter chiming on three gongs, quarter push repeat and alarm.
The glazed rear door gives access to the winding and setting arbours.
The case has been cleaned and re-lacquered and the movement has been stripped, cleaned and bench tested by our qualified Horologist. The clock presents in superb overall condition.
