French Gold Tole Chiming Wall Clock, Japy Freres, Circa 1820

A large and rare antique gold plated tole wall clock, Empire, France, circa 1820. 

The ceramic dial with Roman numerals is in excellent condition.

 

The brass eght-day Japy Freres French movement with silk suspension pendulum and hourly/half-hourly strike on a bell.

The movement has been serviced by our qualified Horologist and is in perfect working order. 

Tole - painted, enameled or lacquered tin plate used to make decorative domestic objects.
