A pair of Royal Worcester Japonesque Vases dated 1896/97
Each vase decorated with five white panels containing colourful red floral displays in turquoise urns, the panels separated by dark blue decorative bands highlighted with gilt patterning, the shoulder of each vase decorated with a russet leaf decoration, the dark blue base, collar and lid highlighted in gilt with swirling grass and floral patterns.
In addition to the usual Royal Worcester factory marks, the bottom of each vase is stamped with the number 1864 which I believe to be the pattern number.
No chips, cracks or restoration. One vase has a very small section of light crazing to the glaze. However, this is only noticeable at very close quarters and does not detract from the overall beauty of these rare vases. No rubbing or wear.
