Jacqueline Fowler, Still Life With Japonica, Oil On Canvas

 

Born in England in 1945 Jacqueline has lived and worked in Australia for many years. 

 

She paints in oils and pastels embracing a wide range of soft colours and subjects including figures, still life, florals and landscapes.  Her landscape paintings are generally painted or sketched ‘en plein air’ with the weather and changing light adding to the challenge.

 

Integral to her works are the vases, silk wall hangings, screens and objects that have been part of her family life, from her childhood living in Japan to finding pieces in auctions.
