A magnificent NAPOLEON III Sevres Porcelain mounted gilt bronze mantel clock, C.1870 by Howell James & Co, clockmakers to Queen Victoria.
The profusely decorated case surmounted by a flaming torchere and two winged Griffin, with a painted ceramic finial to each corner. Allover decorated with gilt foliate swags and hand painted ceramic panels,case with impressed mark GC, on toupie feet.
The original gilding is in good order, the ceramic panels with no signs of damage or wear.
The eight day bell striking movement signed Howell James, Paris.
