A beautiful oil on board in bold layers of paint in rich earthy tones which is characteristic of the artists early works.

 

Donald McIntyre is considered as a Welsh artist as he spent some 45 years of his artistic career in North Wales.  His first commercial works were exhibited at the Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff. However, he was born in Leeds to Scottish parents and his childhood years were spent in the West Coast of Scotland where he continued to regularly paint throughout his career.

Donald McIntyre exhibited in London, Scotland, Wales and Europe and today his paintings are widely collected with works held in collections including the Llyfrgell Geneglaethol Cymru National Library of Wales, the American Embassy in London, the Newport Art Gallery, the Williamson Art Gallery and private collections globally.
