This is a beautiful French engraved lacquered brass carriage clock circa 1880.  


The clock has bevelled glass panels all round including the back door.


The white enamel rectangular dial inscribed 'Goldsmiths Alliance Ltd, Cornhill, London' with Roman numerals and original black hands; no chips or cracks to dial. The case is surmounted by an ornate carry handle.

The quality eight day French movement with original lever platform escapement which is visible through the glass panel on the top of the case, with hour and quarter chiming on two gongs, quarter push repeat and alarm.

The glazed rear door gives access to the winding and setting arbours.


The clock presents in beautiful overall condition.
